Sure, but who am I?
Oscar De Leon is a Chicago-based journalist, photographer, film nerd, romantic, and live music junkie, giving him access to essentially infinite outstanding experiences. As an alum of the Medill School of Journalism from Northwestern University, he has experience with storytelling, reporting, and photojournalism. He has experience covering concerts since 2018, from shows like Natalia Lafourcade and Meshuggah, to taking pictures at Riot Fest. On top of concert reviews, Oscar has written end-of-year review lists, thought-provoking personal essays, and profiled up-and-coming bands. He also photographs local bands in Chicago, and has a passion for concert photography. On top of being fueled by music (as a writer and musician), he also has experience covering films and professional wrestling, more of his interests.
Armed with an artistic heart and a cinematic eye, Oscar is extremely passionate about capturing and preserving the beauty and experience of life by any means necessary. He wants to shine a light on those who need it, from the misfits to the underrepresented. As a Latino, he is aware of the importance of giving a voice to the voiceless. He will stop at nothing to find success in his passion.
